Metro Police Chief Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri conducted a direct inspection of major transport hubs in Jakarta on Saturday (14 March) to ensure personnel readiness and security and comfort for the public during Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026.

Inspector General Asep, accompanied by the Metro Police Deputy Chief and senior officials, visited Terminal Pulo Gebang, Stasiun Pasar Senen, Stasiun Gambir, and Bundaran HI Security Post on Saturday (14 March 2026). The inspection was conducted continuously from 14:00 to evening.

“We wish to ensure the entire security arrangement for Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026 runs optimally. Our main focus is providing humanitarian service and ensuring travellers feel safe and comfortable during their journey,” said Inspector General Asep in his statement.

The convoy arrived at Terminal Pulo Gebang integrated terminal around 14:45. At this location, the Police Chief inspected the Health Post and conducted vehicle compliance checks on the bus fleet.

A warm atmosphere was evident when Inspector General Asep greeted mudik travellers in the waiting room and children’s play area. Beyond greetings, the two-star general also distributed chocolate to children and food hampers to passengers preparing to depart.

According to data, on Friday (13 March), 4,160 passengers departed from Pulo Gebang. As of Saturday evening during the inspection, 1,307 passengers had been sent off.

“The peak mudik flow is predicted to occur on 13 March last and rise again on 17 March coming. We have prepared 6,812 combined personnel to oversee 1,647 security locations,” he explained.

Leaving East Jakarta, the Police Chief and his entourage continued to Stasiun Pasar Senen at 16:00. Inspector General Asep checked the readiness of the nursing mothers’ room and station health facilities. He also entered the train to dialogue with passengers.

An hour later, the inspection continued to Stasiun Gambir. Here, the Police Chief monitored the situation through the Station Chief’s monitoring room. On Saturday, 17,525 passengers departed from Stasiun Gambir using 46 train sets.

At both stations, the Police Chief gave appreciation in the form of fruit parcels to officers on duty at Security Posts as a form of moral support.

Concluding the inspection series, Inspector General Asep visited Bundaran HI Security Post at 17:10. In addition to monitoring mudik flow, this inspection was also focused on security readiness for the approaching religious holidays.

“At Bundaran HI, we ensure personnel readiness to face Eid al-Fitr and Nyepi Day simultaneously. Members must remain responsive and alert to anticipate increased public activity in the city centre,” he asserted.

Overall, Inspector General Asep stated that law and order situations at Jakarta’s major transport hubs are conducive. He also reminded the public that the Police provide vehicle parking services at police stations for mudik travellers, as well as emergency services through the 110 call centre.

Inspector General Asep ensured that Metro Police ranks, together with related stakeholders, continue working maximally. They ensure mudik travellers are well served and law and order situations in Jakarta remain conducive.
