Metro Jaya Police Extend Richard Lee's Detention Period by 40 Days
Metro Jaya Police have extended the detention of cosmetic doctor Richard Lee for up to 40 days ahead. Deputy Head of Public Information and Documentation at Metro Jaya Police Public Relations, Kompol Andaru Rahutomo, stated that the detention has been extended until 3 June 2026. “I convey that from 5 May 2026 to 3 June 2026, the suspect DRL’s detention period has been extended,” said Andaru when met at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Tuesday (5/5/2026). The reason is that ten days prior, the Banten Attorney’s Office had returned the case file on 13 April 2026 because some case documents were deemed incomplete. From there, investigators fulfilled the prosecutor’s instructions by conducting additional examinations of several witnesses. “Thus, it will be synchronised, the sufficiency of two pieces of evidence, the sequence of events, this will be aligned so that the story in the case file can be coherent, forming a unified whole to fulfil the formulation of the offence charged against suspect DRL,” explained Andaru. During this process, Andaru emphasised that Richard remains detained at the Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre. No detention suspension has been requested by Richard’s side. “So hopefully, there will be clarity soon so that it can proceed to the next stage,” said Andaru. He was reported by cosmetic doctor Samira, known as Doctor Detective, to Metro Jaya Police. The report is registered as LP/B/7317/XII/2024/SPKT at Metro Jaya Police. Currently, the reported case has reached the investigation stage. “We convey that the case is under investigation, and we state that the suspect determination was made on 15 December 2025 for Mr RL,” explained Reonald.
