Men burglarize boarding house
JAKARTA (JP): Two men burglarized four rooms in a boarding house in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta on Wednesday, eyewitnesses said yesterday.
The men ran away with jewelry, cash, wristwatches and vehicular ownership documents worth several million rupiah, the owner of the premises, Agung, said.
She said that the men, who moved into rooms on the second floor on Tuesday, broke into the rooms below theirs through the floor.
"On Wednesday morning, when most of the tenants were out for business, the new tenants locked themselves inside their rooms. I thought they just slept late or were cleaning their room," she said.
When other tenants came home in the evening they found their valuables gone and the ceilings in their rooms damaged.
Agung said she last saw the men at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday when they told her they would collect their belongings. They left without settling their bill. (yns)
