Maxus Discusses Opportunities to Sell Models Beyond Premium MPV
JAKARTA – Chinese automotive brand Maxus is strengthening its foothold in the Indonesian market through a line of premium electric vehicles. In its initial phase, the company has introduced two electric MPV models, the Mifa 7 and Mifa 9, as the spearhead of its market penetration strategy.
The introduction of these two models represents Maxus’s initial strategy to establish its brand identity whilst building consumer confidence in the electric vehicles it offers.
The premium MPV segment is considered quite promising, particularly given the rising consumer interest in electric vehicles that offer high levels of comfort.
Jerry Huang, CEO of Maxus Indonesia, stated that this is only the early phase of Maxus’s operations in Indonesia, with the introduction of the Mifa 7 and Mifa 9. He claimed both models are unique within their segment, offering high quality.
According to Huang, the company is not solely focused on product sales, but also paying close attention to various developments occurring in the national automotive market. This forms part of Maxus’s long-term strategy to determine its next moves in Indonesia.
“We remain optimistic about the intensity going forward to offer more products across other segments in Indonesia. However, currently for the premium EV segment, we remain focused on our two products and delivering our best service,” said Huang.
In several other countries, Maxus’s portfolio is actually quite extensive, not limited solely to passenger vehicles. The manufacturer also operates a diverse range of electric commercial vehicles, including in the double-cabin pickup truck segment.
Regarding other segments, in Thailand, Maxus offers electric vehicles in the double-cabin pickup truck segment and the commercial vehicle category. Interestingly, currently no manufacturer operates in the electric double-cabin pickup truck segment.
