Maxim Indonesia, a ride-hailing service provider, has stated its readiness to conduct an in-depth review of the reduction in revenue deductions taken by app-based companies from online motorcycle drivers to 8 percent. This follows Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026, which was signed and announced by President Prabowo Subianto during the International Labour Day/May Day commemoration on Friday (1/5). “In connection with this, Maxim needs to conduct an in-depth review and carefully study the details of the regulation before providing projections or further statements regarding its future impacts,” said Maxim Indonesia’s Development Director, Dirhamsyah, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday. Furthermore, Dirhamsyah stated that the commission rate applied by the company is one of the most competitive and lowest in the national market. “Regarding the current policy dynamics, we assess that the maximum 15 percent commission structure applied by Maxim represents an optimal equilibrium and the most efficient in the industry,” he said. “This formulation has empirically protected partner drivers’ income margins while maintaining tariff accessibility for consumers,” he added. In addition, Dirhamsyah said that the company is also committed to maintaining partner welfare through cooperation with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, including providing full insurance coverage for partner drivers with disabilities as a form of corporate social responsibility. Maxim also collaborates with the Yayasan Pengemudi Selamat Sejahtera (YPSSI), which is committed to providing protection for partner drivers through compensation. “For this reason, we encourage a comprehensive strategic review of the policy to ensure that the online transportation industry climate remains conducive, sustainable, and inclusive for all levels of society,” said Dirhamsyah. He also urged inclusive dialogue with market players, considering that each platform has different business models as well as operational and financial capacities. “Maxim expresses openness for further discussions and reaffirms full readiness to cooperate constructively with relevant parties,” he added. Previously, President Prabowo had signed Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 27 of 2026 to reduce the revenue deductions taken by app-based companies from online motorcycle drivers to eight percent. Through this new regulation, the government has set a much lower new standard to increase the net income of online transportation workers.
