The Mataram City Government (Pemkot Mataram) has taken firm action against a civil servant (ASN) proven to have violated work discipline. The ASN was dismissed for frequently disappearing after the morning roll call and skipping work during office hours.

“It has been decided by the team to submit it to the Mayor for dismissal, and he has already been dismissed. The case is due to indiscipline. Actually, this is the second time; it has been tried, and this is the final one, the third,” said the Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Mataram City, Taufik Priyono, when confirmed in Mataram on Friday (8/5/2026).

Yoyok, his familiar nickname, explained that the dismissed ASN is a man working at the Mataram City Trade Department.

According to Yoyok, the ASN committed various disciplinary violations, from attending work only a few days a week to showing up for the morning roll call, then disappearing during work hours, and returning only for the afternoon roll call.

“He is a man, (dismissed for) not coming to work and various other reasons. Sometimes in a week he attends, but disappears for two days; sometimes he attends sporadically. He only does the morning roll call, is absent in the afternoon, but returns in the evening. We confirmed with his department and family; it turns out he left home but did not go to the office,” revealed Yoyok, who also serves as Chairman of the Examination Team for Alleged Disciplinary Violation Cases of Pemkot Mataram.

Yoyok emphasised that the ASN is no longer receiving a salary because the dismissal decision letter has been entered into the e-discipline system and BKN’s confirmation.

“It has entered the system, the application, and the BKN confirmation has also been issued. He has been automatically deleted from the database. So, the dismissal is final,” he explained.

Pemkot Mataram Processes 5 Other Employees

In addition to the indiscipline case, Pemkot Mataram is also processing the dismissal of five other employees with different cases, ranging from disciplinary violations to drug abuse.

“Those currently in process are two employees, one PNS and one PPPK,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the other three employees are embroiled in drug cases. They consist of a non-permanent employee (PTT), an honorary employee, and a part-time PPPK.

“For the drug case recently, there is a PTT, an honorary employee, and also a part-time PPPK. (They) are being processed in the e-discipline application, as the part-time ones are already in the system. Meanwhile, the dismissal procedure is still awaiting from BKN. This drug case is a serious violation,” Yoyok asserted.

Previously reported, honorary employees arrested in connection with drug cases will be directly dismissed without a lengthy process. They come from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme, honorary staff of the Mataram Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), NTB Public Works and Public Housing Department (Dinas PUPR NTB), and workers at the land deed issuing official (PPAT).

As a preventive measure, Pemkot Mataram plans to routine urine tests for employees involving the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).
