Marsinah's remains buried again

SURABAYA, East Java: The remains of labor activist Marsinah were buried again in her home town of Nganjuk yesterday, a month after the police exhumed her body for another forensic test in Jakarta.

"The test was complete but we can't tell the final results because they are yet to be cross-checked with the findings of the previous investigations," East Java police chief Maj. Gen. Roesmanhadi was quoted by Antara as saying.

Marsinah was murdered after leading protests at PT Catur Putra Surya, a watch factory south of Surabaya in Sidoarjo .

Her remains were exhumed for the second time on June 27 following the Supreme Court acquittal of the nine people the Surabaya lower court had found guilty of murdering her.

The authorities have re-opened the investigation, even though the Supreme Court has made it clear that the released suspects cannot be charged a second time for the same crime. (pan)
