28-year-old Minah died after the fire scorched her body, while her 40-year-old husband was fortunately still alive, although he suffered serious injuries and most of his skin was burnt off.
There was no information available about the cause of the incident as Achmad, the only witness, was still being treated at Bogor PMI Hospital.
Husen, head of Bojong subdistrict, said he had no knowledge of the incident.
"Both victims were new members of our subdistrict. They had not yet even reported their presence to the subdistrict officials," he said, as quoted by Antara.
Husen said subdistrict officials were still searching for the victims' families.
"There were no other people in the married couple's house," he said.
He said neighbors saw Achmad run from his house with fire all over his body at about 3 a.m.
"Some neighbors rushed to extinguish the fire in the house, while others admitted Achmad to a nearby hospital," he said.
