Manufacturing Company Launches Smart Toilet Equipped with Usage Alarm
Tangerang (ANTARA) - Kohler Indonesia, a manufacturing company originating from the United States, has introduced the latest innovation in the sanitary segment through the launch of a smart toilet priced at Rp40 million, equipped with an alarm that activates after 15 minutes as an indicator of usage duration, as well as a remote control for opening and closing the lid.
Head of Marketing for Kohler Indonesia, Maria Veronica Simanjuntak, in Tangerang on Friday, stated that the product is scheduled for an official launch in early July 2026 and targets the upper-middle-class housing market.
The introduction of the smart toilet is part of the company’s strategy to meet consumer needs for more modern, practical, and comfortable bathroom devices.
“This smart toilet actually complements the line we already have. The difference is that this product features a slimmer and more integrated design, making it suitable for homes with more compact bathroom sizes,” said Maria during the ARCH:ID 2026 event at ICE BSD City in Tangerang.
In addition, this smart toilet is equipped with various automatic features such as lid opening and closing, auto flush, and a deodoriser to absorb odours.
“Other features include bidet options for front and back cleaning, a dryer for drying, as well as water temperature and seat temperature adjustments to ensure comfortable use, especially in cold conditions,” explained Maria.
In terms of design, the smart toilet is more straightforward compared to previous generations, which tended to be larger and separate. Kohler has also enhanced the comfort aspect through a more intuitive remote control with raised buttons, making it easier for users to operate.
Regarding the price, Maria mentioned that the LIB smart toilet ranges from Rp40 million to Rp50 million, which is more affordable than previous products that could reach Rp100 million. This price includes installation costs.
“This product is indeed aimed at the upper-middle segment. However, compared to the previous high-end series, LIB provides an alternative with a more competitive price,” she said.
Nevertheless, Kohler assures that the introduction of this new product will not disrupt sales of their premium line. According to Maria, each product has a different target market according to consumer needs and preferences.
“Now, the trend in housing tends to be more compact, so the need for slimmer products is also increasing. That’s what we address through LIB,” she added.
For distribution, Kohler will market this product nationwide through its showroom network, which is currently concentrated in major cities. In addition to the residential sector, demand is also starting to come from the hospitality sector.
On the other hand, Kohler continues to strengthen its commitment in Indonesia by providing production facilities for conventional toilets. Although the smart toilet is still imported whole, the company offers options for consumers to upgrade regular toilets to smart ones by replacing the seat with digital features.
In 2026, Kohler will also implement a price adjustment of around 4 percent for all its products, in line with the company’s global business planning.
“With this launch, Kohler hopes to expand the market penetration of smart home devices in Indonesia, particularly in the segment of high-tech bathroom equipment,” she said.
