JAKARTA – The Manpatu project undertaken by PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) continues to advance and has entered a crucial phase of load out to sail away jacket, as part of efforts to boost national oil and gas production.

This latest stage is being carried out through the load out activity of the jacket at the fabrication facility of PT Meindo Elang Indah, Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, on 26 March 2026. The project is a continuation of the first cut of steel that began in May 2025.

PHM General Manager Setyo Sapto Edi emphasised that this project is part of the strategy to strengthen national oil and gas production.

“We are consistently driving innovation and the application of technology based on best practices in the upstream oil and gas industry, both at the national and global levels,” said Setyo in his statement on Monday (30/3/2026).

“This is implemented in an integrated manner across all aspects of the company’s operations and business,” he added.

The project scope includes the construction of one new platform in the form of a jacket and piles with a total weight of approximately 1,380 tons, as well as a topside weighing around 1,100 tons. In addition, modifications are being made to the existing platform, installation of a 14-inch diameter subsea pipeline approximately 2.5 km long, and highly complex subsea work.

Overall, the project also encompasses the drilling of 11 development wells to support increased gas and condensate production.

The project also emphasises work safety aspects, achieving more than two million work hours without lost time incidents (Lost Time Incident/LTI) up to March 2026. With the large scale of work, the total work hours are projected to exceed three million by the project’s completion.
