Management Studies Programme at FEB Unisba and PPKM Strengthen Business Ethics and Halal Ecosystem for MSMEs
The Management Studies Programme of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Islam Bandung (Unisba) conducted a Community Service initiative (PKM) in collaboration with Perkumpulan Pengusaha Karsa Mandiri (PPKM) Bandung Regency, themed “Business Ethics and Halal Ecosystem for MSME”.
The activity took place over two days, 21-22 May 2026, at Unisba’s campus, Jalan Taman Sari Number 1, Bandung. On the first day, the activity began with the signing of a cooperation agreement between both parties. Unisba was represented by Indra Fajar Alamsyah, Ph.D., whilst PPKM Bandung Regency was represented by Dewi Ayu Wulansari. This cooperation constitutes a strategic step in strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and business actors, particularly in encouraging MSME capacity enhancement to enable professional, ethical, and competitive development.
The first day’s activities continued with presentations on business ethics by Allya Roosallyn A, M.Si., emphasising the importance of honesty, responsibility, transparency, and compliance in conducting business. Additionally, Nadia Meirani, MSM, presented material on cooperation agreements, discussing the importance of legal understanding for business partnerships in building healthy, clear, and mutually beneficial business relationships.
On the second day, participants received strengthened material on the halal ecosystem and mentoring related to legal registration and halal certification. This material was presented by Mochamad Malik Akbar Rohandi, MM., Eka Tresna, MM, Rezi M Taufik, MBA., and Ayu Puspita from UP3H Unisba. The discussion aimed to help MSME actors understand the importance of the halal ecosystem and halal certification as part of a strategy to increase consumer trust.
Through this PKM initiative, the Management Studies Programme of FEB Unisba hopes that MSME actors within PPKM Bandung Regency will be better prepared to face competitive market demands. Strengthening business ethics, understanding cooperation, business legality, and the halal ecosystem form an important foundation for MSMEs to grow sustainably, gain community trust, and achieve a stronger position in the national halal market.
