DEPOK — A man who murdered his unregistered wife in Limo, Depok, waited approximately one hour before leaving to confirm that his wife was dead.

“The suspect waited for roughly one hour whilst observing the victim’s condition,” said Deputy Director of Mobile Robbery Unit, Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Resa Fiardi Marasabessy to Kompas.com on Tuesday (10/3/2026).

At that point, he had strangled the victim’s neck. Once the victim’s body went limp, he continued his actions by wrapping the victim’s neck with rope. “The suspect took raffia twine to wrap around the victim’s neck to ensure her death,” said Resa.

After confirming the victim was no longer breathing, ARH took his unregistered wife to one of the rooms. The victim’s body was covered with a carpet, and the perpetrator left carrying the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle.

The victim’s body was discovered approximately five months later on Saturday (7/3/2026) by her son, L. The following day, ARH was arrested in the Jatimulya area, Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency, on Sunday (8/3/2026).

Previously, the body of DH was found inside her home in the Meruyung area, Limo, Depok City, on Saturday (7/3/2026) in the morning. Upon discovery, the victim’s remains had deteriorated to skeletal remains.

Cinere Sector Police Chief Commissioner Chairul Shaleh explained that the discovery of the victim’s body began when the victim’s son, L, along with his girlfriend R, came to the house in February 2026 to clean it. Both had previously been informed that the victim was travelling to Sukabumi, West Java.

“Upon their first arrival at the house, the gate door was locked with a padlock from the outside,” said Chairul when confirmed on Monday (9/3/2026).
