JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - JMH, the man who assaulted three employees at a Pertamina petrol station in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, faces a maximum prison sentence of two years and six months for his actions.

“Of course, we will charge the perpetrator with violating articles 466 and 471 of the Criminal Code regarding assault, which carries a maximum prison sentence of two years and six months,” said East Jakarta Police Chief, Commissioner Alfian Nurrizal, during a press conference at the East Jakarta Police Headquarters on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

Alfian explained that the assault occurred when the suspect attempted to fill his Toyota Vellfire with subsidized Pertalite fuel. The vehicle was recorded as a green Toyota Land Cruiser with a different license plate, so the operator refused to provide the fuel.

“However, the data showed that it was a green Toyota Land Cruiser with a different license plate. Therefore, the operator refused to fill the vehicle with fuel,” Alfian said.

“Then, the suspect became angry and committed violence against the three victims,” he added.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the suspect was already intoxicated before arriving at the petrol station and subsequently committing the assault.

“The investigation revealed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and not fully conscious. Before arriving at the petrol station, the suspect was already intoxicated,” Alfian said.

In addition, the police also found indications of narcotics use. Suspicion arose because the suspect’s answers changed during questioning.

“I ordered the medical team to conduct a urine test. And it turned out that after the urine test, the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana,” he explained.

Previously, it was reported that three employees of a Pertamina petrol station in Cipinang, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, were allegedly assaulted by a customer during the fuel filling process on Sunday night (23/2/2026).

The petrol station staff, Mukhlisin (38), explained that the incident began when the customer tried to fill up with Pertalite, but the vehicle used did not match the data on the barcode.

“Actually, the customer was filling up with Pertalite, and the barcode number was correct, but the car did not match the one shown on the EDC (Electronic Data Capture) device. So, according to the rules, the license plate number and the car must match on the petrol station’s EDC,” Mukhlisin said.
