Ambon (ANTARA) - The Maluku Regional Police (Polda) have designated FS, a civil servant (ASN) from the Maluku Prosecutor’s Office, as a suspect in an alleged fraud and embezzlement case, developed from an investigation into a report received since December 2025. “This case originated from police report No: LP/B/432/XII/SPKT/Polda Maluku dated 18 December 2025, concerning alleged criminal acts of fraud and embezzlement as regulated under the Criminal Code,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Maluku, Senior Commissioner Rositah Umasugi, in Ambon on Tuesday. During the investigation process, investigators faced several technical obstacles, particularly regarding witness attendance, so the complainant SB and witness AW were only questioned on 12 January 2026 as they had previously been in Namlea. Meanwhile, another witness, FH, underwent examination on 14 January 2026 after initially postponing attendance due to pregnancy and childbirth. In that process, investigators have examined several parties, namely SB as the victim, AW and FH as witnesses, and FS as the suspect. Additionally, evidence in the form of an agreement letter and receipts has been seized, with a seizure determination obtained from the Ambon District Court. Subsequently, through a case review on 12 March 2026, FS was officially designated as a suspect. “Since the suspect did not properly comply with summonses twice, legal steps will be taken in the form of issuing an arrest warrant,” she stated. She emphasised that such steps are taken to ensure legal certainty and accelerate the resolution of the case. “We are committed to handling this case professionally, transparently, and accountably without favouritism, including towards ASN personnel,” she added.
