Ambon (ANTARA) - The Maluku Regional Police (Polda Maluku) have committed to improving financial governance after undergoing a 16-day audit by Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Agency (BPK RI) of their 2025 budget management.

“This audit is a vital part of the financial management and oversight system. All findings presented will serve as material for correction and evaluation as we improve our financial governance going forward,” said Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Dadang Hartanto in Ambon on Friday.

The commitment was affirmed by the Maluku Police Chief whilst presiding over the BPK RI Final Audit Briefing held in the Precision Command Post Room on the fourth floor of the Maluku Regional Police Headquarters. The event marked the conclusion of the series of inspections conducted by the BPK RI audit team across the Maluku Regional Police and all subordinate district police commands.

The Police Chief expressed his appreciation for what he described as a professional, objective, and comprehensive audit process. He affirmed that all findings and recommendations would be used as evaluation material to strengthen the internal oversight and financial management systems within the police force.

He also urged all ranks to exercise greater discipline and professionalism in the management of budgets and state assets, and to avoid repeating errors identified during the inspection.

“Financial and asset management must become increasingly orderly, accountable, and in accordance with the provisions of prevailing laws and regulations,” he stated.

As part of the proceedings, the Maluku Police Chief together with the Deputy Head of the BPK RI Team signed the Official Report on Audit Findings as a demonstration of their commitment to following up on audit recommendations.

The final briefing served as a pivotal moment for the Maluku Regional Police to strengthen the principles of transparency and accountability in the management of state budgets, whilst simultaneously building public trust through better and more responsible financial governance.

Looking ahead, the Maluku Regional Police have assured that every BPK RI audit recommendation will be followed up in a measurable and sustainable manner, through the strengthening of internal oversight, capacity building for budget managers, and periodic evaluations across all work units, in order to achieve increasingly accountable and professional financial governance in line with their stated commitment.
