Maluku councillors discuss election

AMBON, Maluku: Fifteen councillors from Maluku, who are also
members of the gubernatorial election committee, are slated to
meet home minister Hari Sabarno on Friday to discuss election
regulations.

The committee's chairman Jhon Maioa said on Wednesday that the
councillors would also meet the ministry's regional autonomy
director general to consult technical problems in the election.

The election should have been conducted last September but was
delayed for around 10 months due to security reasons. The
province was under civil emergency at that time.

Jhon said that the Maluku Legislative Council had not set a
date for the election yet, but it would take place later this
