Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI), Boyamin Saiman, plans to report the KPK’s leadership, investigators, and spokesperson to the House of Representatives’ Commission III regarding the former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas being placed under house arrest.

Boyamin stated that, in addition to the Supervisory Board, the KPK is also overseen and works in partnership with Commission III of the DPR. Therefore, his group will report the controversy over the transfer of Yaqut’s detention status to Commission III of the DPR RI.

“Oh, that’s definite. Because the KPK’s overseers, besides the Supervisory Board, are Commission III. At the very least, I will submit a request for a general hearing. Hopefully a working committee, or even higher, a special committee. But I will send it very soon. Hopefully tomorrow I will already send it,” Boyamin said in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Boyamin said his group will provide further information regarding the complaint to Commission III of the DPR RI.

“I will update once I have sent the complaint to Commission III of the DPR RI. As long as it is possible, the KPK will be reported to anyone, including the DPR, and I will give the message,” he said.

Previously, Boyamin officially reported the KPK’s leadership, investigators, and spokesperson to the Supervisory Board (Dewas) on Wednesday (25/3/2026). This report stems from the controversy over changing the detention status of the suspect in the hajj quota corruption case, former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, to house arrest.

Boyamin mentioned several crucial points in his report, including allegations of allowing external interference by the KPK leadership in the detention transfer process.

“The KPK leadership is suspected of allowing the KPK to be intervened by external parties and not reporting it to the Dewas. This refers to the jurisprudence of Anwar Usman’s dismissal from the MK for allowing external intervention in case number 90,” Boyamin said after submitting the report letter on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

The controversy over the transfer of Yaqut Cholil Qoumas’s detention has far-reaching consequences. MAKI has officially reported the KPK leadership to the Dewas over allegations of external interference and special treatment.
