The Madiun Regency Government, East Java, is conducting an evaluation of the implementation of learning at the local Sekolah Rakyat to ensure that the teaching and learning process is orderly, effective, and in accordance with regulations.

The Regent of Madiun, Hari Wuryanto, stated that the evaluation is being carried out thoroughly, covering the implementation of learning activities, student care, dormitory life, and coordination between staff members.

“The evaluation also discusses the division of tasks and responsibilities for each implementing element, as well as responding to various problems faced during the programme’s execution,” said Regent Hari Wuryanto during the Sekolah Rakyat Learning Implementation Evaluation held at the Sekolah Rakyat Multipurpose Building, Nglames Village, Madiun Regency, on Monday.

According to him, evaluation, coordination, and communication between the various implementing elements of Sekolah Rakyat are essential to ensure that students can maximise their pursuit of knowledge. To support this, all activities must also be documented and reported in an orderly and periodic manner as part of the effort to ensure the programme’s implementation aligns with its objectives.

The Regent noted that if any issues arise concerning the students, they must be handled swiftly, accurately, and in a coordinated manner. This is particularly important as the implementation of Sekolah Rakyat is still in an adjustment phase, both in terms of learning patterns and student life within the dormitory environment.

Consequently, the Regent of Madiun stated that several improvement efforts need to be undertaken. In the short term, these efforts include inventorying all existing problems, immediately resolving urgent issues, and strengthening daily communication and coordination between staff.

In the medium term, improvements can be achieved through regular monitoring and evaluation, strengthening the capacity of foster parents and dormitory supervisors, and enhancing staff competence. Additionally, periodic student progress reports must be prepared to serve as material for evaluation and follow-up actions.
