JAKARTA, Kompas.com – The National Economic Council (DEN) has proposed using a technology-based system to manage natural resource export-import data.

DEN Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated this is due to widespread transfer pricing—where affiliated companies set transaction prices—occurring in Indonesia.

To address this, Luhut proposed using the Inter-Ministry/Agency Mineral and Coal Information System (Simbara) within Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI).

“We will also use Simbara, traceability is already in place; this body will use the system, which links directly to the National Single Window,” he said after the ASEAN Regional Economics Outlook and Fiscal Policy seminar on Monday, 25 May 2026.

“People won’t be able to escape from it,” Luhut added.

He added that continuous improvements will be made to optimise the system.

The proposal is also considered more efficient as it incurs no additional costs.

“Indonesian youths can develop the software, and it is a creation of Indonesian talent,” he said.

Furthermore, Luhut explained that Government Technology (GovTech) based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) would significantly simplify systems.

“And reduce corruption,” he added.

PT DSI is a newly established state-owned enterprise (SOE) created by the government to prevent under-invoicing and underpricing practices.

These practices involve manipulating export data to reduce government revenue.

“The platform we have set up is ‘one platform, multiple benefits’. The world is happy, Indonesians are happier,” said Rosan in the House of Representatives, according to a statement from the Government Communication Bureau (Bakom RI) on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
