Lufthansa increases services

JAKARTA (JP): German flag carrier Lufthansa plans to introduce its sixth weekly service for the Jakarta-Frankfurt route beginning today.

The company's general manager for Indonesia, Peter Emmerich, said in a statement yesterday that Lufthansa will now serve the route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays with a combi version of Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

The introduction of the new schedule to Jakarta will increase its annual seat capacity for its Jakarta services by 20 percent to 120,000 seats from 100,000.

Besides, Emmerich said, Lufthansa will also connect Denpasar in Bali with Frankfurt via Bangkok Saturdays and Sundays. (rid)
