LSF still needed

We, the members of the Society Against Pornography (MTP), are
quite concerned with the strong demands voiced by certain circles
lately that the Film Censorship Institute (LSF) be disbanded. In
our opinion this demand, which is based on the fear that the LSF
may violate human rights, should be reviewed. It should be taken
into consideration that at present, when the LSF is still in
existence, the mass media, particularly television, films and
advertisements/commercials, very freely air sexual exploitation
(pornography) and violence.

In principle, we object to the LSF conducting preventive
censorship in the case of programs such as talk shows. However,
it does not necessarily mean that we approve of the idea to
disband the LSF because in our opinion the LSF is still needed to
exercise control over the mass media so that materials involving
pornography and violence do not reach the public.

We hope we can all think clearly so as to jointly find a more
appropriate form of control over our audio-visual media. It is
our hope, too, that we may have safe and family-friendly mass
media conducive to the moral uplifting of our society.
