JAKARTA — The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has revealed that Lisnawati, the mother of NS, frequently received threatening messages after reporting her ex-husband as a suspect in the murder of their child in Sukabumi, West Java.

These messages demanded that Lisnawati refrain from speaking out and not interfere in the case.

“Since Mrs Lisna reported her ex-husband as a suspect, Mrs Lisna has received numerous threats via SMS, WhatsApp and other means instructing her not to speak out and not to interfere,” stated LPSK Deputy Chairperson Sri Suparyati during a public hearing with Commission III of the House of Representatives at Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Monday (2 March 2026).

The terror has caused Lisnawati to suffer depression. When she came to report to the LPSK office on 27 February 2026, the agency immediately provided her with three assessments.

“At that time we immediately requested information from Mrs Lisna and subsequently conducted three assessments: a medical assessment because Mrs Lisna complained of physical ailments, a psychological assessment, and a threat assessment,” she explained.

From the interviews, LPSK obtained information regarding the background of NS’s father, who is a member of a criminal gang. Sri urged the police to investigate this matter, as it relates to the threats received by Lisnawati.

“Mrs Lisna’s ex-husband happens to be a gang member, which I believe warrants further attention from the police, particularly because of its connection to the threats that Mrs Lisna frequently receives,” Sri stated.

Moreover, Sri noted that domestic violence in her client’s household had been occurring since the victim was a child. The victim had been burned with cigarettes, splashed with water, and even submerged in a bathtub.

“So from childhood, it turned out the victim had experienced such frequent violent acts, and not only against NS but also against Mrs Lisna. We observed that domestic violence in this family has indeed been quite common,” she emphasised.

When brought to hospital, the victim’s body bore numerous bruises and blistered injuries resembling burn wounds.
