LPDP to Be Launched Soon, Pramono: Campuses and Majors Determined by DKI Provincial Government

JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is pushing for the scholarship programme LPDP Jakarta to be implemented as soon as possible. This programme is expected to open opportunities for Jakarta’s school students and university students to study abroad. Pramono stated that the funds for this programme come from the budget managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. “The available funds are certainly those managed by the DKI Jakarta Government, but because managing LPDP takes time and requires a long process, we are collaborating with the central LPDP,” Pramono said when met at the Jakarta East Mayor’s Office on Tuesday (5/5/2026). Nevertheless, the DKI Provincial Government will still determine who is eligible for the scholarship, including the campuses and majors chosen. “In determining the students, universities, majors, and so on, it will be the DKI Jakarta Government that decides,” he said. According to him, this programme could be a great opportunity for Jakarta’s children to continue their education abroad. “If this can be realised, in my opinion, it is very good to provide opportunities for Jakarta’s children or university students to study abroad using LPDP Jakarta,” Pramono expressed.
