Lovina Beach Gets a Facelift, Redevelopment Progress Reaches 92%
The new face of the Lovina Beach tourist area is beginning to emerge. The icon of North Bali tourism is undergoing a makeover to appear more orderly, brighter, and more comfortable.
The redevelopment project at Lovina Beach has reached 92%. The nearly completed construction includes a 651-metre pedestrian walkway and the installation of 34 lighting points. These facilities make Lovina Beach safer and more comfortable, especially at night.
“We are carrying out this redevelopment so that the community and tourists have a proper and comfortable recreational space for activities,” said Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra during an inspection of the Lovina Beach redevelopment project with his deputy, Gede Supriatna, and members of the Buleleng Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) on Wednesday (24/6/2026).
The pedestrian path or jogging track being built, Sutjidra explained, is specifically intended for pedestrians, runners, and cyclists. Motorised vehicles are not permitted to pass through the area.
Sutjidra emphasised that the redevelopment of Lovina Beach is not merely about beautifying the tourist area, but is part of the local government’s strategy to develop a sustainable tourism destination based on local potential.
“We hope that with this new look, Lovina’s tourist appeal will increase so that visitor numbers to Buleleng continue to grow,” Sutjidra hoped.
The Buleleng Regency Government is optimistic that Lovina Beach will become more competitive as a premier destination in North Bali. The presence of new facilities and improved lighting is expected to make tourists enjoy the beach atmosphere, both during the day and at night.
The transformation of Lovina has received a positive response from local tourism operators. One of them, Nyoman Arya Astawa, admitted that the redevelopment of the area had been long awaited by the community.
“The redevelopment of the Lovina area has been anticipated for so long and has now been realised. The community’s enthusiasm is very high because the atmosphere is vastly different from before,” Arya revealed.
Arya assessed that the Lovina Beach area now appears more organised and possesses a new appeal that has the potential to boost visits from both domestic and international tourists.
“The change is extraordinary. Hopefully, it can increase tourist visits to Lovina and have a positive impact on the community’s economy,” Arya hoped.
