LKPP Deputy Recounts Negotiating Prabowo's Smartboard Price from Rp 100 Million to Rp 26 Million in Chromebook Trial
Jakarta - An expert in goods and services procurement, as well as the Deputy for Law and Dispute Resolution at the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP), Setya Budi Arijanta, shared his experience negotiating the price of interactive flat panels (IFP) for President Prabowo Subianto’s programme from Rp 100 million to Rp 26 million per unit.
Setya conveyed this when asked for his opinion as an expert in the continuation of the trial for the alleged corruption case in the procurement of Chromebook-based laptops for three defendants.
“I accompanied the negotiation yesterday, sir. There’s a government priority project in basic education for the procurement of interactive flat panels. The catalogue price was Rp 100 million. I managed to negotiate it down to Rp 26 million,” Setya stated during the trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, on Thursday (2/4/2026).
This drastic reduction surprised the Public Prosecutor (JPU).
Setya explained that the price could drop so significantly due to a lengthy negotiation process, with direct communication to the factory.
“Because the negotiation took three weeks. I negotiated directly with the factory. Not through the system. Negotiations can be manual or via the system. I negotiated directly with the factory, sir. And we got Rp 26 million as mentioned,” Setya said.
This Rp 26 million figure already includes shipping costs and insurance.
However, the per-unit price could drop drastically due to the large order quantity, reaching 300,000 units.
President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto officially launched 215,572 interactive flat panels (IFP) or smartboards for schools across Indonesia.
“Today we are inaugurating the digital learning programme, where we have achieved quite a significant accomplishment; 75 percent of all schools in Indonesia have already received interactive panels,” Prabowo said at SMPN 4 in Bekasi City, West Java, on Monday (17/11/2025).
Prabowo hopes this interactive learning can help all students in Indonesia.
“Alhamdulillah, we hope this panel can help all students across Indonesia to learn better, learn more enthusiastically, learn faster, and have access to all the necessary knowledge materials,” he added.
These smartboards are distributed to various school levels, from early childhood education (PAUD), elementary schools (SD), junior high schools (SMP), senior high schools (SMA), to vocational high schools (SMK).
The distribution of these smartboards is part of the digital learning programme.
