The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster has disbursed living assistance (jadup) to support the lives of survivors following floods and landslides in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar).

According to the Task Force’s daily report as of 29 March, the distribution of jadup assistance has reached all three affected provinces. Of the total planned allocation for 62,990 individuals, 54,585 have received their entitlements, with a total of Rp 272.726 billion disbursed.

The breakdown shows Aceh achieving the highest realisation, reaching 42,540 individuals with Rp 203.696 billion. In North Sumatra, assistance has reached 10,235 individuals with Rp 53.759 billion.

In West Sumatra, assistance has reached 1,794 individuals with Rp 15.044 billion.

The jadup distribution scheme provides Rp 15,000 per individual per day for three months. This assistance is distributed after data validation by local governments (pemda), with distribution handled through PT Pos Indonesia.

Jadup assistance is one of the post-disaster aid schemes provided to ensure the continuity of survivors’ lives. This step ensures that the recovery process not only addresses physical infrastructure but also the purchasing power of communities paralysed by the disaster.

This massive achievement in jadup distribution is parallel to the massive distribution of Social Economic Stimulus Assistance (BSSE) and Housing Fill-Up Assistance (BIH). The total BSSE and BIH disbursed has reached 35,780 disaster survivors with a total of Rp 107.340 billion.

Additionally, the Task Force has disbursed Housing Waiting Funds (DTH) for disaster survivors who do not choose to live in temporary housing (huntara). The DTH amount is Rp 600,000 per month for three months, so each family head receives a total of Rp 1.8 million.

To date, all DTH recipient accounts have received fund transfers, with a 100 per cent distribution rate for 14,021 recipients in the three provinces. The breakdown is 8,099 recipients in Aceh, 4,162 in Sumut, and 1,760 in Sumbar.

Previously, while reviewing disaster survivors in South Tapanuli, the Head of the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Post-Sumatra Disaster, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, emphasised that the speed of financial assistance disbursement in the form of jadup, household furniture assistance, economic stimulus support, and DTH greatly depends on the speed and completeness of data collection by local governments.

Therefore, Tito urged regional heads in affected areas to accelerate and complete data on disaster survivors so that targeted assistance can be disbursed quickly.

“The sooner we receive it, the sooner BPS can conduct field verification, the sooner BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) can act,” said Tito in a written statement on Sunday (29/3/2026).

This was conveyed by Tito at the Handover Ceremony of Phase One Keys for 120 Permanent Housing Units for Disaster Victims in South Tapanuli Regency, Sumut, on Friday (27/3).
