Lively! Jogja Financial Festival Targets 10,000 Participants
CNBC Editor-in-Chief Wahyu Daniel targets the Jogja Financial Festival to be attended by 10,000 participants. Registration fees will also be donated to university students. Daniel explained that the Financial Festivals in Surabaya and Medan were attended by more than 10,000 participants. He aims to achieve the same for the Jogja Financial Festival in Yogyakarta. “This year, we want to liven things up again in Jogja. The target for that day might be 10,000 participants in the Financial Festival, because it’s not just financial figures; Pak CT (Chairul Tanjung) himself will attend as a speaker,” Daniel said during a press conference at GIK UGM on Friday (24/4/2026). The Jogja Financial Festival, organised by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in collaboration with Transmedia, will feature educational classes and business talks partnering with industry leaders. “There will also be comedy, Lapor Pak, brought directly from Jakarta to the Jogja Expo Center,” he revealed. The event, to be held at the Jogja Expo Center on 22-24 May 2026, will also be enlivened by comedians from Kiki Saputri to Surya Insomniac. “We will also invite Raffi Ahmad, just like in Surabaya, to liven up the Jogja Financial Festival,” he added. In addition, there will be a concert each day. On the first day, singers Ari Lasso and Happy Asmara will entertain participants for free. “On the second day, there will be a concert by Silet Open Up and Juicy Luicy. That’s also free,” he said. As part of this event, there is also the Jogja Run D-City 2026 run on 24 May 2026. He noted that registration fees for the run will be donated to university students. “The money will be 100 percent donated to students. So this is running while donating, with that theme,” he said. He hopes the Jogja Financial Festival can improve financial literacy and education for participants. “There’s entertainment so that friends in Jogja can attend not just to gain knowledge about finance, but also to get entertainment or fun, with concerts at the end of the event,” he said.
