List of LPG Prices for 3 Kg, 5.5 Kg, and 12 Kg, Effective 4 May 2026
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, has guaranteed that the prices of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) will not undergo any changes or increases until 31 December 2026.
Bahlil emphasised that the government is protecting the common people from fluctuations in global energy prices. He stated that the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is still capable of bearing the subsidy burden even if the Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) reaches US$100 per barrel.
“Until 31 December (2026), even if the ICP is US$100 (per barrel), insya Allah the prices of subsidised BBM and LPG will not rise,” he revealed at the Sinergi Alumni IPB Untuk Bangsa event, quoted on Monday (4/5/2026).
Bahlil explained that the certainty of subsidised LPG and BBM prices is a direct order from President Prabowo Subianto. The government will continue to monitor the availability of national energy stocks to ensure that services to the public are not disrupted by international market dynamics.
“I reiterate that for BBM, insya Allah there will be no increase for subsidised BBM including LPG. We will maintain that, and that is the order from the President, Mr Prabowo,” he stated.
Nevertheless, a different policy will be applied to non-subsidised energy products consumed by affluent segments of society. For that segment, the government will allow prices to follow market mechanisms dynamically in accordance with prevailing regulations.
The government notes that the energy subsidy burden, particularly for LPG, remains a challenge due to annual import expenditure reaching Rp137 trillion. From that amount, the state must allocate subsidy funds of Rp80-87 trillion per year to keep 3 kg LPG prices affordable.
