List of Damage in Dubai Following Iranian Retaliation Attack on 1 March
Escalation of Middle Eastern conflict reached its peak between late February and 1 March 2026, when Iran launched a retaliatory attack targeting multiple sites in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai, as a global business centre, was affected by falling missile and drone debris from intercepted projectiles.
The UAE Ministry of Defence stated that it had intercepted the majority of 137 missiles and 209 drones directed at its territory. However, “debris showers” in densely populated urban areas such as Dubai could not be avoided. In Dubai, eight people sustained injuries, whilst Abu Dhabi reported one fatality at Zayed International Airport.
Security conditions in Dubai remain a global concern given its position as one of the world’s busiest aviation and trade hubs. The UAE government emphasised that it would take firm steps to protect the sovereignty and security of its citizens and visitors from all forms of regional threats.
As of 1 March 2026, UAE airspace remained under high alert status. Passengers of Emirates, Etihad, and Garuda Indonesia airlines were urged to continue monitoring the latest flight schedules before heading to the airport.
