BOGOR — Bogor City Police (Polresta Bogor Kota) has cautioned residents planning to travel through Bogor City during the Eid exodus to remain vigilant of several congestion and accident hotspots.

Traffic Unit Commander of Bogor City Police AKP Robby Rachman predicted that traffic congestion in Bogor City could occur during the post-Eid period (H+).

He explained that Bogor City often serves as an alternative or relief route for Bogor Regency Police operations, particularly when congestion occurs on the Puncak route.

He stated that 98 police personnel have been deployed to manage congestion. Additionally, two specialist traffic management teams, each comprising 13 personnel, have been assigned.

“The management teams will be stationed at Baranangsiang and at checkpoint 6 Ambon at the Bogor Outer Ring Road (BORR) junction,” he said.

Meanwhile, Traffic Unit Chief Inspector Iptu Lukito explained that congestion is likely to occur because many travellers pass through routes towards Puncak, Cianjur and Padalarang.

“Usually they use the Kedung Halang route, Talang, Simpang Jambu Dua, straight through Baranangsiang, Tajur-Wangun-Ciawi, then to Gadog-Puncak-Cianjur,” Lukito told Kompas.com on Wednesday.

He urged the public to anticipate congestion on the Tajur-Ciawi route, as it serves as a convergence point for vehicles from various directions.

“What needs to be anticipated most is the Tajur-Ciawi route for those heading towards Bandung, because that is where traffic converges from those heading to Sukabumi, then those heading to Cianjur and Bandung,” he said.

In the 2026 Operasi Ketupat Lodaya (Eid Security Operation), Bogor City Police Traffic Unit also deployed almost all traffic personnel at approximately 48 traffic management checkpoints spread throughout Bogor City’s jurisdiction.

“Almost all traffic personnel are deployed at approximately 48 checkpoints, or traffic management posts, distributed across the entire Bogor City Police area,” he added.

Lukito also noted that two accident-prone areas (black spots) require particular attention from travellers.

“The first is Tajur-Wangun Road and the second is Dramaga Road,” he said.
