Liliek Prisbawono Adi Officially Appointed as Constitutional Court Justice Replacing Anwar Usman
JAKARTA - Liliek Prisbawono Adi has officially taken office as a justice of the Constitutional Court, replacing Anwar Usman who has retired. Liliek took the oath of office as a Constitutional Court justice in the presence of President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace, Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026). “I swear by Allah that I will fulfil my duties as a constitutional court justice to the best of my ability and as fairly as possible, upholding the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,” Liliek began his oath. “And I will carry out all laws and regulations as straightforwardly as possible in accordance with the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and serve the nation and the people,” Liliek added. After the oath, he signed the minutes of the oath-taking ceremony for the Constitutional Court justice. The oath-taking was concluded with congratulations from President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, followed by ministers and invited guests present. Several ministers in attendance included Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Otto Hasibuan, Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago, and Deputy Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Lodewijk. For information, Liliek was selected from three Constitutional Court justices in the Supreme Court environment who passed the selection. The other two are Fahmiron and Marsudin Nainggolan. According to the Medan High Court website, Liliek Prisbawono Adi was born in Bojonegoro on 27 October 1966. Before serving as a Constitutional Court justice, Liliek was a high court judge at the Medan High Court and previously served as chief judge of the Central Jakarta District Court.
