Lights Out at Duri Station, KAI Assures KRL Operations Remain Normal
Lights at Duri Station in West Jakarta went out this evening. KAI Commuter Line stated that KRL operations continued normally. “Regarding the power outage in the West Jakarta area and around Duri Station on Thursday night (9/4) starting at 18:10 WIB, KAI Commuter confirms that Commuter Line services at Duri Station are unaffected. Tangerang and Cikarang Commuter Line services at Duri Station continue normally for passenger boarding and alighting,” said KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan in his statement on Thursday (9/4/2026). Leza explained that the electricity supply from PLN was cut off in the area around Duri Station, causing the lighting there to go out as well. “However, several facilities for passenger services continue to operate normally using the station’s genset power supply,” he said. Leza stated that ticket sales and electronic gate operations for tap-in and tap-out are running normally. The process of passengers entering and exiting Duri Station is also unaffected. “At 19:40 WIB, the electricity supply from PLN returned to normal, and the lighting at Duri Station and other passenger service facilities resumed operations,” he explained. He urged all Commuter Line users at Duri Station not to panic over the PLN power outage and station lighting failure. “Always prioritise safety and follow instructions from station officers,” he added. As is known, several areas in Jakarta experienced power outages due to disruptions. Currently, electricity in the Angke area, West Jakarta, is still out. PLN UID Jakarta Raya Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs, Haris Andika, revealed that there was a disruption in the electricity supply originating from several substations. PLN is currently carrying out gradual normalisation. “There was a disruption in the electricity supply in several Jakarta areas originating from several Substations (GI). The areas still affected by the outage are Angke and surrounding areas. PLN is carrying out gradual restoration efforts,” said Haris in his statement on Thursday (9/4/2026). Haris said that the public can report complaints if they experience electricity issues. He stated that complaints and reports can be submitted through the 123 service and the PLN Mobile app. “Customer complaints and reports can be submitted through the PLN Mobile app and PLN Contact Centre 123,” he said. There is no information yet on how long the outage will last. However, he said that normalisation has reached 50 percent.
