The Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) following the Sumatra disaster ensures that the distribution of life guarantee aid (jadup) and other social assistance to disaster survivors continues with principles of targeted delivery, accountability, and field-based data. Chairman of Satgas PRR, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, emphasised that all aid distribution mechanisms are conducted through a bottom-up data approach from local governments to ensure that assistance truly reaches those who are entitled. “The speed of providing aid, whether for damaged houses, individuals, furniture, food money, and economic stimuli, uses a bottom-up mechanism from data collection by district/city governments. Some are fast, some are slow,” Tito said in Jakarta on Wednesday, 25 March 2026. He explained that the differences in aid distribution speed across regions are not caused by delays from the central government, but rather by variations in the speed of data collection and submissions from local governments. According to Tito, recipient data must undergo a multi-layered verification process, starting from local governments to elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), as well as field validation by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to ensure no errors or duplicate data occur. “We found duplicate data in the field. Therefore, verification is very important to ensure aid is targeted,” he stressed. Satgas PRR data as of 13 April 2026 records the widespread distribution of social assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of life guarantee aid, housing contents, and economic stimuli in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. In Aceh Province, aid distribution reaches various districts/cities with significant values. Pidie Jaya District received a total aid of Rp123.66 billion, followed by East Aceh at Rp37.68 billion, and Central Aceh at Rp27.14 billion. Meanwhile, several other regions such as Bener Meriah, Nagan Raya, and Subulussalam City also received aid worth billions of rupiah. In North Sumatra, social assistance was also distributed to various areas such as South Tapanuli with a total of Rp14.61 billion, Langkat at Rp8.51 billion, and Humbang Hasundutan reaching Rp3.62 billion. In West Sumatra, aid distribution includes records in Padang Panjang City at Rp81.81 billion, Padang Pariaman Rp9.18 billion, and Fifty Cities Rp6.75 billion.
