LG unveils the first 1,000 Hz monitor that doesn't drop resolution
LG, a technology company, has unveiled its latest gaming monitor called the UltraGear 25G590B. The monitor is claimed to be the world’s first Full HD gaming monitor with a native refresh rate of up to 1,000 Hz. The feature promises smooth motion in content, particularly when the screen is used for gaming. It should be noted that modern gaming monitors generally offer refresh rates from 144 Hz to 360 Hz. Therefore, the advent of a 1,000 Hz refresh rate represents a substantial leap.
The concept differs from other 1,000 Hz monitors previously introduced, such as the Samsung Odyssey G6 or the Acer Predator XB273U. Both monitors can only reach 1,000 Hz refresh at a resolution reduced to 720p.
LG claims the native 1,000 Hz capability allows gamers to play in visually consistent conditions without sacrificing image quality.
The UltraGear 25G590B is equipped with a 24.5-inch IPS panel. The size is relatively small compared with modern gaming monitors, but is deemed ideal for e-sports needs because the entire screen area remains easily within reach of the eye without much head movement.
LG also equips this monitor with Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology, which is claimed to make moving objects appear sharper and easier to track during intense movement.
LG has also embedded a number of AI-based technologies. One is AI Scene Optimization, which automatically adjusts image settings based on the game genre being played. Also features AI Sound, claimed to enhance spatial audio effects and make in-game voice communications clearer when using compatible headsets.
The monitor also supports ergonomic adjustments such as tilt, swivel, and height adjustment. The stand is equipped with calibration indicators so users can set the screen position consistently when moved to another location, for example for esports tournaments.
LG has not yet disclosed other details about the monitor’s specifications, such as brightness levels or response time. The price has also not been announced.
Clearly, the LG UltraGear 25G590B will go on sale in several countries in the second half of 2026, before gradually expanding to other markets, according to KompasTekno from TechSpot, on Wednesday (20 May 2026).
