Legislator: Disaster Fund Disbursement in West Sumatra to Be Carried Out in Stages
Padang (ANTARA) - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) from West Sumatra (Sumbar), Andre Rosiade, stated that the disbursement of the budget for handling the disaster that occurred in the province will be carried out gradually until 2028. “This is phased. So, this disaster budget will be released gradually over three years, namely from 2026, 2027 to 2028,” said the West Sumatra DPR RI member, Andre Rosiade, in Padang City on Monday. Andre, who is also the Deputy Chairman of Commission VI of the DPR RI, said that the central government has allocated more than Rp18 trillion for handling the impacts of disaster damage in Sumbar. However, due to efficiency and current budget limitations, the government is first prioritising the scale of priorities. According to him, the disaster handling budget received by Sumbar is larger than that of North Sumatra Province but still below Aceh. This indicates that the central government is paying great attention to Sumbar post-disaster. He said that after visiting several disaster-affected points in Sumbar, there are several things that must immediately receive priority handling, one of which is the construction of the Anduriang Bridge in Padang Pariaman Regency, which was cut off due to being hit by flash floods. Meanwhile, the Head of the National Road Implementing Agency (BPJN) for Sumbar, Elsa Putra Friandi, targets the detailed engineering design (DED) or detailed technical design of the Anduriang Bridge in Kayu Tanam, Padang Pariaman Regency, to be completed in August this year. Several stages of the design review process have been carried out, including preliminary surveys, topographic surveys, geotechnical surveys, and hydrological surveys. Meanwhile, the hydrological analysis is currently in the process of technical advice from the River Technical Agency in Solo, Central Java. According to him, the construction of the Anduriang Bridge basically requires recommendations from the River Technical Agency, including foundation depth or the need for abutment protection (bridge foundation) that needs to be added considering the impact of hydrometeorological disaster damage at the end of 2025. In general, the bridge’s superstructure will be built with B70 steel frame with a span length of 2x70 metres or a total of 140 metres. The construction of this bridge is estimated to cost Rp45.2 billion with an estimated implementation period of around 10 to 12 months.
