Lecturer in Pamulang Reports Police After Name Allegedly Defamed Over KRL Sexual Assault Allegations
A lecturer at a university in Pamulang, Tangerang Selatan, has filed a report with police against a female KRL passenger. The lecturer, identified as FHS, claims his name has been defamed by the alleged sexual assault accusations.
“Yes, that is correct. A report was made yesterday morning,” said Iptu Made Budi, public relations chief at Depok Metro Police, to journalists on Tuesday (17 March 2026).
FHS lodged a report against the female KRL passenger on suspicion of defamation of character. The report has been received by Depok Metro Police and the case is being handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (Sat PPA-PPO).
“Yes, the allegation of defamation of character is being handled by the Sat PPA-PPO,” he stated.
FHS was accompanied by legal counsel from his campus when filing the report at Depok Metro Police. Made noted that the case is still in its initial processing stage, including the preparation of examination reports (BAP) from both parties.
“The process will naturally proceed with examination reports from the complainant and witnesses,” Made said.
Background: Sexual Assault Allegation on Jakarta-Nambo KRL
Previously reported, a woman became a victim of sexual assault on the Jakarta-Nambo commuter line in Bogor. KAI assisted the victim in filing a police report.
The incident occurred on Saturday (14 March) at 21:01 on the Jakarta Kota-Nambo commuter line. The victim boarded at Tebet Station heading to Cibinong Station on commuter line No. 1530 (Jakarta Kota-Nambo), while the alleged perpetrator boarded at Tanjung Barat Station.
The victim experienced sexual harassment as the train approached Universitas Indonesia (UI) Station. The alleged perpetrator reportedly concealed his actions with a backpack. KAI staff immediately apprehended the perpetrator.
“The alleged perpetrator committed sexual harassment inside the commuter line. The perpetrator was subsequently removed at Universitas Indonesia Station by train staff, thanks to reports and assistance from other users,” said Leza Arlan, public relations manager for KAI Commuter, in a statement on Sunday (15 March).
Staff coordinated with station personnel for follow-up action. The victim and alleged perpetrator were questioned regarding the sequence of events.
“We will enter the alleged perpetrator into our CCTV analytics database, which can detect the faces of alleged perpetrators who commit crimes either at stations or on commuter lines. We will blacklist the perpetrator so they cannot use the commuter line again,” he said.
KCI expressed concern over the alleged assault. The operator stated it will not tolerate any form of sexual violence, whether on commuter lines or at stations.
