PT Transjakarta will increase the number of buses serving several tourist destinations during the Lebaran holidays in 2026. These include routes to Ancol, Ragunan, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK). The expansion is aimed at anticipating a surge in passengers expected to rise during the long holiday period.

‘So to Ancol, then also to Taman Mini, Ragunan, perhaps also PIK, because there is already a PIK route. These are the routes that we may reinforce with more buses,’ said Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza at Jakarta City Hall, quoted from Kompas.com, Wednesday 4 March 2026.

Thus, it will facilitate public mobility to spend the holiday with family during Lebaran in Jakarta.

According to Welfizon, the fleet addition is to ensure passenger waiting times remain manageable and crowding at bus stops can be anticipated.

In addition to inner-city tourist routes, Transjakarta is also studying the possibility of adjusting the fleet for TransJabodetabek services, such as the routes to Alam Sutera and Bogor.

The expansion will be adjusted according to the level of need on the ground.

Transjakarta urges the public to plan their journeys well and to utilise public transport during the Lebaran holiday to reduce traffic congestion at tourist spots.

On Lebaran Day, the Jakarta Provincial Government plans to make all public transport services free.

Regarding the Rp 0 fare question, it was explained that in the payment system there must still be a value recorded.

‘So here’s the thing: in the Transjakarta, MRT, and other systems, if it’s Rp 0 there must still be a value. That’s why it’s made Rp 1. Actually Rp 1 and Rp 0 are not different for passengers,’ he said.

Because there must still be rupiah read and deducted in the system, Rp 0 is converted to Rp 1, he explained.

In other words, the service remains free to the public, but the payment system records Rp 1 so that transactions can run normally.
