Lebaran 2026 Mudik Backed by 3,115 km of Toll Roads, 291 km Ready for Functional Use
Jakarta – The toll road network in Indonesia is set to support smooth traffic during Lebaran 2026. Kris Ade Sudiyono, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Toll Road Association (ATI), said the total length of toll roads currently in operation reaches thousands of kilometres and will increase with newly commissioned sections that will be utilised temporarily. There are 3,115 km under operation at present, and hopefully 291 km of new sections will be activated functionally. Functional toll sections are typically opened to help ease traffic, particularly on routes that are prone to congestion during the mudik period. Kris stressed that preparations for the mudik flow are not easy. Various parties must work hard to ensure that toll road infrastructure and services are ready for use by travellers returning to their hometowns. For information, the Indonesian Toll Road Association is an organisation that encompasses 59 Toll Road Concessionaires (BUJT), from both the state-owned and private sectors. The organisation actively promotes its members’ contributions to the development of national infrastructure, while also developing the toll road industry’s potential in the private sector. With the growing toll network, Lebaran 2026 mudik is expected to be smoother and more comfortable for travellers.
