Learning English is serious fun at Regent

Learning English is serious fun at Regent

For people at the Regent Indonesia English Language Center,
serious fun is not a contradiction. They believe it is the
correct way to learn English.

"Learning English is a serious business, which requires hard
work and attention to grammar," dean of Regent Indonesia Michael
Earley said.

However, he added, it is best if developed in an enjoyable and
fun way.

To do this, teachers at the language center use games and
other activities designed to develop conversational skills.

Earley, who has been a teacher for many years, said that the
courses promote freer expression in the classroom while retaining
the guidance of learning the language the right way.

The institution's comfortable and friendly atmosphere also
ensures a happy and productive learning environment to maximize
students' interest.

In short, the newly opened language center, which is part of a
worldwide franchise, based in the U.S., is confident it can outdo
its competitors.

Earley, who has taught English in other countries including in
Russia, said that years of teaching English at several English
courses in the capital had given him an idea of which methods
worked and which did not.

Some English courses focus only on grammar, which does not
give students a chance to work on their conversational skills.

Others focus on conversational skills without giving a firmer
base for grammar.

"We're going to combine all the best approaches to make it
work the best," Earley said.

Regent Indonesia offers specialized courses for children and
adults.

There are various classes based on age. They are Playgroup
Class (three to four year olds), Young Learners (five to six year
olds) and Super Kids (seven to nine year olds).

The Super Teens course is for 10 to 15 year olds, while those
16 years old and above can attend the Adult Courses.

The language center also offers Conversation Practice Class,
Business Focus Class, TOEFL Introduction and TOEFL Preparation
classes.

For intensive one-to-one learning, Regent also offers a
Private Intensive class.

Upon request, Regent Indonesia can also assist companies in
helping their employees improve their English with its on-site
company training program.

All students take a placement test to determine which level of
a particular program they should take. This ensures that every
student learns according to the knowledge they already have.

The Regent Indonesia campus, located on Jl. Griya Inti Sentosa
Blok A No. 25/26, Sunter in North Jakarta, has eight comfortable
classrooms and a computer lab.

To make sure that every student gets enough attention from
their tutors, the language center limits each of its classes to
10 children or 14 adults for each session.

The language center also offers high-quality lessons at
competitive prices.

Tuition fees start from as low as Rp 800,000
per ....(month/semester?), which covers course books and other
expenses for all supplementary materials.

Tutors at the Regent Indonesia language center are native
speakers from the United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Australia and New
Zealand.

The teachers were selected from many applicants and meet the
language center's high standards.

Alex Campbell and Andre La Flamme, two of several tutors at
the language center, said they were ready to transfer all their
knowledge to their students.

"We have learned languages in several countries so we know
from experience how to teach a language in an effective way,"
Campbell said.

No matter what your English needs are, Regent Indonesia can
provide you with first-class lessons to best prepare you for the
future.
