LCC MPR Controversy: Re-run Final, But SMAN 1 Pontianak Chooses Not to Participate
The controversy surrounding the SMAN 1 Pontianak team’s perceived unfair treatment in the final of the MPR’s Four Pillars Smart Competition in West Kalimantan has taken a new turn. However, SMAN 1 Pontianak has stated that they will not participate in the final and will support SMAN 1 Sambas, who were originally declared the winners.
The re-run of the LCC final was announced by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani. He stated that the decision to re-run the final was based on feedback from the public.
“First, the Smart Competition at the West Kalimantan level, the final of which will be re-held at a time to be decided as soon as possible,” said Muzani at the parliament complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (13/5).
“Second, the judges who will judge in the Smart Competition will be independent judges,” he added.
Muzani expressed his gratitude to the public for providing feedback after the incident involving judges from within the MPR and the MC at the event. According to him, the participants in the competition have exercised their right to freedom of speech and protest as a form of democracy.
Muzani emphasized that they continue to evaluate the activities organized by the MPR. Input from the public will be the main priority that the MPR listens to.
“We will continue to evaluate the improvement of MPR activities, and today we continue to listen to input from the public through various media,” he added.
Judges Reprimanded
Muzani admitted that he had summoned the two judges of the smart competition in West Kalimantan who went viral. Muzani said that the two judges had been reprimanded.
“Yes. We summoned them earlier. We have reprimanded them,” said Muzani.
The MPR has conveyed an apology in person. Muzani said that the apology had represented the two judges, Dyastasita and Indri Wahyuni, who are officials at the MPR Secretariat General.
“Yes, the MPR institution has been conveyed by the Secretary General. One of our leaders has conveyed an apology. So that has represented everyone, including the judges, because this is an institutional activity, not an individual activity,” he said.

Indang said that SMAN 1 Pontianak will not be involved if the LCC competition is re-run as previously stated by the MPR RI.
“SMAN 1 Pontianak states that it will not be involved in the implementation of the re-run LCC competition,” she continued.
“The steps taken are not an attempt to attack or undermine the credibility of the institution, the organizers of the competition, or any individual,” she said.
