Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ombudsman (ORI) has formed an ethics panel to try the inactive Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Hery Susanto after he became embroiled in an alleged nickel corruption case.
Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Rahmadi Indra Tektona stated that the panel, consisting of five people, was formed as a concrete commitment by ORI in responding to existing dynamics and following up on the legal case faced by Hery.
- Death toll from ALS bus accident in Muratara rises by one
Palembang (ANTARA) - The number of fatalities from the accident involving the Antar Lintas Sumatera (ALS) bus and a tanker truck from PT Seleraya in Musi Rawas Utara Regency (Muratara), South Sumatra, has increased after one patient died while receiving treatment at Rupit District Hospital on Friday.
The Head of Traffic Police at Muratara Police Resort AKP M Karim, when contacted from Palembang on Friday, said the victim named Muhamad Fahrul Hubaidi (32), a resident of Tegal Regency, Central Java, died around 11:00 WIB due to serious burns he suffered.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects a civil servant (ASN) and mid-level functional official of Customs, Ahmad Dedi (AD) from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, who fled from journalists, of receiving money in an alleged corruption case within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.
“Investigators today summoned several witnesses, including brother AD. Investigators are delving into allegations of receipt from PT BR (Blueray Cargo, ed.),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Friday.
- Purbaya will not suspend Director General of Customs despite KPK involvement
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that he will not suspend the Director General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) Djaka Budhi Utama, as they are still awaiting the ongoing legal process, even though his name has appeared in the indictment of the Blueray Cargo case belonging to defendant John Field.
“No (not suspending). Until it’s clear what happens there. The process (legal) has just started. His name has just appeared, how can we stop immediately. We’ll see until it’s clear, as clear as possible what the case is, then we’ll take action,” said Purbaya when met at the Ministry of Finance office, Jakarta, on Thursday.
