Latest strike: Iran's missiles pound the heart of Israel's capital Tel Aviv
Iran has again launched air strikes on Israel. Iran’s missiles targeted the heart of the Israeli capital, Tel Aviv. Explosions were heard at several locations.
According to AFP, on Friday (6 March 2026), the blasts came after Israel broadened its campaign against Hezbollah, vowing to avenge the militant group backed by Tehran for joining the conflict after the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran’s state television said Tehran had fired missiles “at targets in the heart of Tel Aviv,” after the Israeli military said it was trying to intercept the strikes from Iran that night.
An AFP journalist in Tel Aviv heard two waves of explosions almost simultaneously echoing across the city.
Rockets also lit up the sky over Netanya, a city north of Tel Aviv on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. After the rocket attack, emergency services Magen David Adom (MDA) said its teams had visited several sites reported to be affected, but there were no fatalities.
Israeli police said they were “currently dealing with scenes involving missiles that fell in central Israel,” adding that there was “damage” but no injuries.
A projectile struck a building on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, forcing residents to evacuate.
In another residential area near Israel’s economic hub, firefighters battled a blaze caused by debris from falling rocket parts after Iran’s missile salvo was intercepted.
Israel’s Home Front Command issued several rocket warning notices this morning for communities near the Lebanon border.
