Latest List of LPG Prices for 3 Kg, 5.5 Kg, and 12 Kg at Depots as of 5 May
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has confirmed that the selling prices of state-subsidised energy products will not increase. These include subsidised fuels and 3-kilogram (kg) Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Bahlil emphasised that the government is protecting small-scale citizens from fluctuations in global energy prices. He stated that the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) is still capable of supporting the subsidy burden, even if the Indonesia Crude Price (ICP) remains at high levels.
“Even until 31 December (2026), if the ICP is at US$100 (per barrel), insyaallah the prices of subsidised fuels and LPG will not rise,” he said at the IPB Alumni Synergy for the Nation event, quoted on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Bahlil explained that the certainty of subsidised LPG and fuel prices is a direct order from President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto. The government will continue to monitor the availability of national energy stocks to ensure services to the public are not disrupted by international market dynamics.
“I reiterate that for fuels, insyaallah there will be no increase for subsidised fuels, including LPG. We will safeguard that, and that is the order from the President, Mr Prabowo,” he clarified.
Nevertheless, a different policy will apply to non-subsidised energy products consumed by affluent segments of society. For that segment, the government will allow prices to follow dynamic market mechanisms in accordance with applicable regulations.
The government notes that the energy subsidy burden, particularly for LPG, remains a challenge as annual expenditure reaches Rp 137 trillion. From that figure, the state must allocate Rp 80-87 trillion in subsidies to keep 3 kg LPG prices affordable.
So, what are the prevailing LPG prices as of 5 May 2026?
Indeed, PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially raised the selling prices of non-subsidised 5.5 kg and 12 kg LPG starting from 18 April 2026. This price adjustment has also been implemented at various official depots at the regional level.
Based on observations in the South Tangerang area, the 12 kg non-subsidised LPG is now priced at Rp 245,000 per cylinder. Compared to the previous period, this represents an increase of Rp 35,000 per cylinder.
An increase has also occurred for the 5.5 kg non-subsidised LPG, now sold at Rp 130,000 per cylinder. For this type, the price has risen by Rp 20,000 from the previous applicable price before the latest adjustment.
“(The price) has increased. (LPG) 12 kg Rp 245,000, (5.5 kg) Rp 125,000,” stated the LPG depot attendant, quoted on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
Nevertheless, the price of subsidised 3 kg LPG has not changed. The price prevailing at least at one retailer in South Tangerang remains the same as the previous period, namely Rp 22,000 per cylinder.
The Highest Retail Price (HET) for 3 kg LPG is Rp 19,000 per cylinder in the South Tangerang area.
