Latest Conditions at Bekasi Timur Station After Train Collision, 2 Tracks Now Operational
Observations at the site by detikcom on Wednesday (29/4/2026) at 09.05 WIB revealed two long-distance trains able to pass directly along track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station. One of them was the Argo Bromo Anggrek. Although passable, the long-distance trains traversing track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station continue to operate slowly, not at normal speed. Track 1 at Bekasi Timur Station still contains remnants of the KRL carriage involved in the collision with the Argo Bromo. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) states that the evacuation process for the KRL Commuter Line facilities following the collision at Bekasi Timur Station is still underway. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba said that KRL services will remain limited to Bekasi Station on Wednesday morning. “As of now, the evacuation process for the KRL facilities is still ongoing at the site,” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba, quoted by Antara on Tuesday (28/4) night. She also stated that the primary focus at present is to ensure the evacuation process proceeds safely and in a coordinated manner. “The on-site team continues the evacuation with caution. We ensure that journeys will only resume after all safety aspects are fulfilled,” Anne remarked. On Wednesday (29/4) morning, according to Anne, KRL services will still be limited to Bekasi Station. As handling developments progress on the ground, services on the Bekasi-Cikarang line are planned to return to normal in the afternoon. The incident in the Bekasi area brings profound sorrow. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) conveys condolences to all affected parties. “KAI understands that this situation impacts customer mobility and extends apologies for the inconvenience caused,” said Anne. Meanwhile, based on updates until 13.26 WIB, 15 people have been recorded as deceased and 88 others injured.
