Last warning for paper plant

MEDAN, North Sumatra: The provincial administration has served
a last warning on PT Sari Morawa, a paper manufacturer in Deli
Serdang district, to control its waste, or face stern action.

The administration's Clean River Program team said that the
company, which discharges its waste to Belumai River, has been
repeatedly warned since 1992, Antara reported.

The news agency did not say what sanctions await Sari Morawa
if it continued to ignore the warning.

Hundreds of people who depend on the Belumai River water have
repeatedly protested at Sari Morawa's inaction to control its
