Facing the rush of homecoming and return traffic during Lebaran Idul Fitri, the government has implemented restrictions on freight transport vehicles using toll roads to ensure smooth and safe travel for Lebaran travellers.

Heavy goods vehicle restrictions on the Cikopo–Palimanan (Cipali) toll road will take effect from 13 March 2026 at 12:00 WIB until 29 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB. The same restrictions apply across all other Astra Infra toll road networks.

The restrictions cover vehicles with three or more axles, articulated lorries, trailers, and vehicles transporting mining products, mineral extraction materials, and construction materials.

The measures are based on a joint decision from the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Directorate General of Maritime Transportation, Directorate General of Highways, and the National Police Traffic Directorate (decree reference KP-DRJD 854 of 2026) concerning traffic management and crossing arrangements during the 2026 Lebaran travel season.

Group Chief Executive Officer of Astra Infra, Firman Yosafat Siregar, stated that comprehensive preparation measures have been undertaken, including infrastructure readiness, facilities and amenities, staff deployment, rest areas, and coordination to address extreme weather and congestion at specific locations.

“We always prioritise the safety, comfort, and security of toll road users so they can enjoy the beauty of togetherness during this Lebaran break,” said Firman on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Brigadier General Faizal, Director of Law Enforcement at the National Police Traffic Directorate, urged drivers to prioritise safety whilst travelling.

“For road users undertaking the homecoming journey, prioritise safety and health. This means do not forget to rest, avoid emotional driving, ensure your vehicle is ready for the journey, and follow the instructions and guidance from officers in the field,” he stated.
