Surabaya (ANTARA) — Regional Representative Council (DPD) member AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti has received a complaint regarding the alleged transfer of a house certificate by a multi-purpose cooperative (KSU) in Malang, East Java.

“I am deeply concerned about the case affecting Mrs Isa and the other victims. From the chronology I have studied, there are a number of irregularities that need to be examined by law enforcement,” LaNyalla said upon receiving the complaint at the East Java Kadin Building in Surabaya on Monday.

He highlighted the alleged transfer of the house certificate’s ownership without the consent of the owner or heirs, and called for a report to be filed with the East Java Regional Police for professional handling.

Furthermore, LaNyalla urged investigators to consider applying the Money Laundering Act should hidden asset flows be uncovered.

He affirmed that he would oversee the report to ensure the case is handled transparently and in the interest of justice.

“The state must not be defeated by land mafia practices,” he said.

Meanwhile, a complainant from Malang named Isa Kristina claimed that a house used as collateral for a Rp700 million loan in 2016 was allegedly transferred to the cooperative owner’s name in 2022 without the family’s knowledge, while her husband had passed away in 2019.

“The loan was secured by two ownership certificates — a house and agricultural land — and we had made 30 instalments of Rp50 million each, totalling approximately Rp1.5 billion,” she said.

In addition, the agricultural land used as collateral was reportedly sold for approximately Rp1.3 billion, bringing total payments to Rp2.8 billion.

This total, she said, far exceeded the original Rp700 million debt owed to the cooperative.

Isa further stated that she had sent a clarification letter, lodged a complaint with the cooperatives agency, filed a lawsuit at the Kepanjen District Court, and reported the matter to the police, but had yet to receive any resolution.

“I just want our rights to be returned,” she said.
