Jayapura — The Regent of Lanny Jaya, Papua Pegunungan Province, Aletinus Yigibalom has called on all education sector agencies to ensure equitable educational services reach even the most remote villages in the region.

“We request that relevant agencies pay greater attention to ensure every child has access to decent education without exception,” Aletinus Yigibalom said in a press statement received in Jayapura on Friday, 13 March.

Previously, on Tuesday, 10 March, the Regent inaugurated the new Head of the Education Office, Saiman Yigibalon. During the ceremony, he emphasised that developing quality human resources must be a priority.

“We continue to ensure all schools operate effectively, from teacher attendance to the teaching and learning process and the availability of supporting educational facilities,” he stated.

He explained that the district aims for education in Lanny Jaya to function optimally down to the village level. Educators must be present at schools to ensure students receive their full right to education.

“Therefore, equitable access to education across all areas, including remote regions, is an important part of efforts to improve the quality of human resources for the Lanny Jaya community,” he said.

The regional government is also promoting stronger oversight of teaching and learning activities in schools.

With effective oversight, he said, it is hoped that educator discipline will improve and the education process can run optimally.

“We hope that through collective commitment between the regional government, educators, and the community, the education sector in Lanny Jaya district can continue to develop and provide real benefits for young people in the region,” he said.
