Land Bank to Consolidate 35,000 Hectares of Land as Agrarian Reform Strengthened This Year
Jakarta — The Land Bank Agency will strengthen its focus on expanding the implementation of the agrarian reform (AR) programme this year. Head of the Land Bank Agency Hakiki Sudrajat said the bank will accelerate land utilisation in Batang, Central Java to support the programme. ‘We will focus on land already under our management and whose status is clear,’ Hakiki told reporters at the Land Bank Agency office in Jakarta on Friday, 6 March 2026. Currently, the Land Bank Agency manages about 35,000 hectares of land across Indonesia. At least 30 percent must be designated for agrarian reform. Hakiki said around 11,000 hectares of land are currently available for AR. He noted that areas such as Cianjur, designated as AR areas, have shown positive progress. He explained that 88 AR recipients have signed utilisation agreements, 57 recipients have had their titles registered, and 96 prospective subjects have been verified and validated, after which the AR Subject Decree will be issued by the regent. The Land Bank Agency is also strengthening its commitment to providing land for housing programmes for the people. The housing land is planned in several districts such as Batang, Purwakarta, and Batu Bara. The Land Bank Agency will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Batu Bara for housing development. The land prepared for housing covers about 27 hectares, with the first phase of 5 hectares to be developed for housing.
