Land and building tax

I own a house in the Cipinang Indah complex, Jl. Nusa Indah
Raya, Blok M4, RT06/RW16, in East Jakarta. I have consistently
paid the land and buildings tax (PBB) due on the property at the
bank appointed by the PBB office. I have receipts of all the
payments made from 1994 to 1997.

One day I found that a big metal seal had been screwed into
the wall beside the front gate to my house. The seal proclaims
that the PBB for the house has not been paid for 1994, 1995, 1996
and 1997.

This is not an act of violence, but it is an arbitrary action
reflecting a lack of professionalism. Where have my payments
gone? The seal is a nuisance and an embarrassment. I regret the
way Cipinang Muara sub-district office and the East Jakarta
directorate general of taxes have dealt with this matter.

I appeal to the person(s) responsible for fixing the seal to
the front wall of my house to immediately remove it without
damaging the wall.
